Have faith .

When some one you know is upset, you tend to say just about all the right things. Things which are optimistic, hopeful and down right practical. Sometimes this pep talk works sometimes it does not. When you sit down and think of it, how do we react when we are upset? where does all this optimistic outlook go??  Guess its always easier said that done.

So coming to the point, what makes the real difference? i think its just having faith. When your upset and wondering why things go wrong with you alone, nobody can convince you more than yourself. I knew someone who was battling cancer, doctors  said he wouldn't survive too long. A year maximum. His family was shattered, it was like everyone hoped for a miracle. Relatives would flock around , share their concern and every now and then put in a ray of optimism. The person fighting cancer listened to all of it. He knew its going to be his battle. When in battle you must go in with your most trusted weapon. He went in with Faith. What can i say, he survived & lived for 15 years. Proved the doctors wrong .The doctors stated that his absolute never -say- die attitude and faith is what kept him going for that long.Today he is nomore, but he has definitely taught  me that when in distress you just have to trust yourself. One may not be able to solve the problem but if you lose trust in yourself then the problem will overcome you. It will blind you enough to believe that you have already lost the battle.

I truly believe, when life is giving you a hard time, all you have to do is just have a little faith. It might not get you out of the problem but will definitely give you the strength to move on.At this time i recollect a quote i read somewhere which truly sums up the thought. "Life's battles are not always won by the strongest or the fastest man, sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can "

Soap Opera :)

Here i am sitting in front of the idiot box flipping channels one after the other. Ting tong the door bell rings, and as i open the door my aunt comes rushing in. She finds the TV remote on the sofa and quickly gets to her favorite channel. As i stand at the door wondering what just happened , my aunt has already settled in.
Soap opera !! wow it must be something . Well its definitely more than something , its worth a whooping Rs 652 billion. ( indian entertainment industry)

What makes these soap operas so intriguing ? Somewhere these serials strike a chord with different emotions in us.  We see ourselves connecting to the characters and story-line. We feel these characters are so much like us. Constantly witnessing the ups and downs in life, facing issues with family, friends. Falling in love, betrayal, fights, separation and eventually moving on. Though at the end of it we know its just all nothing but a money making business for those couple of hours  we are totally engrossed. We cant wait to see what happens next , those characters become part of daily discussion and sometimes so much so that we cannot do without them.

The bright side, this business has given so many a livelihood . Its overwhelming to see the number of employment oppotunities this industry creates. No matter how much one cribs about the idiot box or the never ending soap operas they would still go back to watching it day after day.

O gosh, its 8 pm,  time for my favorite soap opera to start. Gota go ;)

scrabble

Scrabble, a beautiful word game. Here two to four players score points by forming words from individual lettered tiles on a gameboard marked with a 15-by-15 grid. The words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary

Sometimes i feel life is just like the game of scrabble. The tiles relate to all the small things we call our own. Family, friends, love, work etc.
when you pick them up from the bag we really don't know the order of importance. All you know is that whatever you choose you would have to make sense of it. If it doesn't fit into your dictionary of life it just doesn't make sense, you don't gain any points.

Playing this game alone is not possible similarly life spent alone is just not that fun.
you have to use your imagination and build on words just like you do on relationships.
Its all there all you need to do is build on it. Like every game it has its rules. You cannot create words that dont exist, similarly one cannot be assuming things and creating misunderstandings.

At the end of it the person who wins the game is not the one who has used most of the letters (tiles), its the person who has placed them in the best possible manner and earned maximum points.
We may not meet too many people or make to make too many relationships, what matters is how and where we place those relationships.
